Thank you for your interest in my qualifications and experience. As you can see when you visit my resume link I have had the opportunity to work for both non-profit and private organizations in a variety of roles. This gives me a well rounded set of valuable skills to add to your team.

I moved during the summer of 2008 to a small town in rural Wisconsin to work as a manager in a family-owned restaurant. The Lawn Beach Inn has been in the Urbaniak family for more than 40 years and is located on beautiful Lake Nebagamon. I have provided management, marketing and accounting services as well as waitressing and bartending on the weekends. This has been a wonderful opportunity but it is time for me to return to work full-time in the Minneapolis area.

While living in Lake Nebagamon I also had the opportunity to work for a time as a Dental and Administrative Assistant in a busy dental office. I dealt on a daily basis with everything from insurance claims to assisting the Dentist with his procedures in the operatory. This position required a great deal of flexibility and the ability to learn very quickly.

Before living in Wisconsin I was the Associate Director of Administration for a community non-profit in Minneapolis until July 1, 2008. I provided a high level of skilled administrative assistance to the President/CEO and you will find my responsibilities listed on my resume, linked on the left.

While with The City, Inc. I took the initiative to complete as many communications and marketing tasks as my calendar would allow. Due to Federal, State and local budget cuts they have had no one to provide these services for a number of years. This puts the organization at risk of becoming invisible in a sea of nonprofits.

I networked to foster inter-agency collaboration and sharing, represented the organization at community events and workshops, participated in panel discussions, coordinated listening sessions between those living in poverty and lawmakers, re-designed agency materials, improved our internet presence and provided research on numerous topics. My activities gave the agency more exposure in the community and were beneficial overall to the entire organization.

I also took the initiative to enhance my IT skills and capabilities while working at The City, Inc. I worked closely with the IT consultant and I provided trouble shooting, assistance and training throughout the agency. In order to increase my own capabilities I needed to seek out and find new technological solutions. I researched and proposed a switch to Google Apps Education and Nonprofit Edition which was completely cost free. I provided the seamless transition from the server based system to a web based system which allowed more functionality and collaboration between programs and even the two campus locations.

Prior to my work in Minneapolis I worked in Marketing and Communications for several years marketing architectural and engineering services. The economy forced the restructuring of our department, and I was out of work. I quickly found temporary positions in a variety of roles allowing me to develop a wonderful flexibility in the skills I have to offer. It was during this time that I worked for an elementary school to coordinate a successful talent show raising money for a new playground. I also worked as a free-lance designer, and I taught children K-14 in after school and family education programs.

I am considered by both present and former supervisors to be a well-rounded employee with a great deal of enthusiasm and talent in many areas. If requested I will be happy to provide you with references.
